Founder
As the founder of The Address, Troy has created one of the fastest growing indie brokerages on the West Coast. Leveraging his gift for branding and marketing, he has created a model that is getting results and drawing in partners who share his vision for California real estate.
From his first small office in the Channel Islands harbor to five offices — including The Address HQ, a new 10,000 square foot space — Troy welcomes an ever-expanding roster of agents and support staff. In addition, The Address’s coffee shop continues his commitment to creating a community hub that welcomes everyone into the space.
His partnership with 4 Malibu has allowed The Address to gain a strategic foothold in the desirable Malibu luxury market. This acquisition brought in some of the top-ranked Malibu agents and a number of amazing properties under The Address umbrella.
As a visionary founder, Troy continues looking for opportunities to grow his brand and take advantage of the nimbleness that only an indie brokerage can provide to create optimal outcomes for his partners, agents, and clients.
Hands-on
Troy is no ivory tower leader, preferring to take a hands-on approach to the art and science of real estate. His energy and expertise have made him a residential specialist for buyers and sellers throughout Greater LA and in markets in Las Vegas, Utah, and Idaho.
As an expert witness, Troy is in demand to provide transactional analysis and high-level evaluation for REO and distressed properties. Working on the cutting edge of the iBuyer movement, Troy serves as acquisition manager and disposition manager for The Address’s strategic investment portfolio.
Troy’s vision has resulted in the development of game-changing marketing strategies at The Address. He has designed patent pending improvements to residential signage and has received a trademark in multiple categories for his brand design.
In 2019, Troy and The Address joined with nine major brokerages in the Orange County-area to share anonymized buyer data and access advanced market analytics through the RealScout Orange County buyer graph. This data will help the brokerage better advise selling clients on pricing and how to best position their homes for sale at a variety of price points.
Writer / Influencer
Troy published his first book, Independent: Why the old-school brokerage model is broken — and how you can disrupt it. It was the culmination of years of thought and experience on both sides of the franchise/indie equation. He is currently hard at work on his follow-up.
In Summer 2019, Troy was invited to speak at Inman Connect Las Vegas as part of a panel entitled “Change is Here: A Brokerage Survival Guide.” Opportunities like this bring more visibility to The Address while also burnishing Troy’s credentials as an influencer in the space.
Troy has written and contributed to dozens of articles for major media outlets, sharing his thoughts on independent brokerages, company culture, and more. His voice in the industry provides a necessary antidote to the same old, tried and-true dogma, while also helping to inspire best practices designed to modernize the way real estate brokers work.
Troy has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Ventura County Association of Realtors as well as being named to the National Association of Realtors’ (NAR) 2020 Leading Edge Advisory Board. He believes in the importance of taking a leadership role and having a say in the direction of these industry organizations, especially as an independent brokerage owner.
